Solid Waste

This Department operates as the Local Solid Waste Management Enforcement Agency for Riverside County and is certified by the state agency of Cal-Recycle to regulate landfills, transfer stations, composting sites and other specific solid waste activities under state laws and regulations. To initiate the permitting process of solid waste facilities, visit Cal-Recycle for instruction and the appropriate application then contact Riverside County Planning Department or your local planning department.

The Program also audits and administers the waste franchises governing the collection of solid waste in the county areas. Here is a tool to find the waste hauler assigned to you. 

Inspectors respond to complaints concerning:
-landfilling or burial of trash and garbage
-roadside dumping
-your franchise solid waste collection
